EFSview SOFTWARE AND INSTALLATION

EFSview is a windows based program which enables information from Swiftpack Counting machines equipped with EFS technology to be displayed and recorded on a PC.
You may download the latest version here.
The latest version is 3.00.000. It has the version number at the bottom, right-hand of the screen.
(Versions earlier than 1.02.001 did not have any version number shown in that position).
We strongly recommend that you upgrade to 3.00.000 to ensure compatibility with all versions of machine software.
Version 3.00.000 has been tested on Windows2000 and Windows98 SE and supports a USB to serial convertor as well as PCMCIA, PCI and ISA devices.

USB to serial convertor.
Note: The Brain Boxes PCMCIA card does not have Windows2000 drivers for both of the card's channels.
The solution is to use the Quatech PCMCIA card which is now available as part of the EFSPC-LT-2 kit.

EFSview is bunched in two self-extracting files, which will make the installation programmes.

click Click here to download MAKEDSK1.EXE

and

click Click here to download MAKEDSK2.EXE

When asked, click on OPEN. When the download has finished click on UNZIP. Unless you change the extraction settings they will extract to the following folders: C:\efsview\disk1 and C:\efsview\disk2.
You can run the installation from C:\efsview\disk1 or copy the contents of each folder to two floppies.

Run the setup.exe program on the disk1 folder or floppy.
You can do this either from START RUN or by double-clicking SETUP in windows explorer.
When you are invited to enter the COM port settings enter the ones which were allocated
to the card in the driver installation, E.G. com3 and com4

You will also see new choices as follows:

Chose "High Speed Comports" if you are using a PCMCIA, PCI or ISA card.
Chose "Comport To USB Convertor" if you are using a USB to serial convertor.
Chose "UDP Port" only when instructed for special applications.

The final step of installation is to restart your computer (What again !)

If you are updating an existing version of EFSview it is not necessary to uninstall the old one, just install the new one to the same folder as the old one and it will over-write.
If you already have a desktop shortcut you should delete it and create a new shortcut from the new installation.
After installation be sure to read the EFSview help files which are located in the EFSview program group in START PROGRAMS.

The good news is that if you are updating an existing installation of EFSview you need not reinstall the serial port drivers!
